AISHWARYA RAI NAME SELLS ‘THE RISING’
Ketan Mehta’s historical thud, Aamir Khan starrer ‘The Rising’ is sold to Bristish audience by adding the new Hollywood sensation Aishwarya Rai.
It is really hard to belive, but many of the publicity hoardings of The Rising carry Aishwarya Rai’s name.
Even a popular British website ‘cineworld.co.uk’ very clearly mentions Aishwarya Rai’s name, not once but twice over, along with Aamir Khan, Toby Stephens, Rani Mukherjee and Amisha Patel.
Infact Aishwarya Rai had been almost finalized for the role of Jwala,. but declined when the makers refused to give her more than a bare outline of her character and plot and then Amisha Patel happily stepped into that role.
While Aishwarya helplessly laughs off this desperate attempt to draw reluctant audiences into theatres, her US agent Simone Sheffield is far more vocal about the attempt to mislead the public, “The Rising is the film that Aishwarya Rai refused! Producers and distributors are selling the film in the UK as a Rai starrer. It’s sad that they’ve to resort to this to get audiences into theatres.â€
Anyhow its proven once again that AISHWARYA RAI IS THE FACE OF INDIA TO THE WEST.

Very bad to use her name especially when she left the film and had tough time with the producer. It goes to show how the name of Ash sells so well.
